The POC Receptor Backcountry MIPS POC ski helmet & POC snowboard helmet for back country riding in exposed environments. This POC ski helmet & POC snowboard helmet is a highly developed version of the POC Receptor. By incorporating MIPS technology, this protective POC ski helmet & POC snowboard helmet will absorb not only the vertical part of impacts, but also the rotational violence which is a serious concern in the case of an oblique impact. This breakthrough patented technology allows the liner and outer shell to rotate in relation to each other, reducing the stress on the brain and ultimately resulting in a safer helmet than ever before. POC Receptor Backcountry MIPS is also equipped with Recco avalanche rescue system.

Not prone to hyperbole, I really do like it. Live in the northeast, needed the absolute safest helmet I could find, thanks to a prior non-skiing misadventure. It's warm, comfortable, I have a fat-head so I'm in an XL. Looks really cool in white, though it's going to get scuffed up through the trees. Keeps me warm when it's uber cold, I think it may be a little too hot for spring skiing, may go back to giro 9 for spring skiing. The only negatives are a) I wish there was an easier way to vent rather than pulling plugs and b) that communications neckroll is damned expensive. With the poc coupon, it gets you down to the price I paid, I don't think you can do any better.
