What is the difference between the POC Spine Ergo Back and Spine Protector and the POC Spine Ergo Bug Back and Spine Protector?

The main difference between these two products is that the Spine Ergo is a multi-impact protector, while the Spine Ergo Bug is a single-impact protector.

POC Spine Ergo Back and Spine Protector

Review top rated, POC Spine Ergo Back and Spine Protector. POC has a new and innovative back protection system. The Spine Ergo is so advanced it even includes a snap-on cervical top protector, the most vital part of the spine, a section overlooked by competitors and the FIS. Besides being one of the most advanced back protection systems on the market it is also made of light weight polypropylene for the back plates and a core made from multi-impact EPP for greater shock absorption and impact distribution. Also the POC Spine Ergo features a great ventilation system thanks to its Air Induction System, which transports moisture and lets fresh air flow in. The Spine Ergo is a great for those who want light weight hard shell protection with multi-impact shock absorbing properties.

SEPP: Super Expanded Polypropylene
EPP: Expanded Polypropylene
EPS: Expanded Polystyrene
The difference between the materials is that SEPP and EPP, unlike EPS do not deform permanently on impact and is therefore suitable to absorb repetitive shocks. Meaning, essentially that an EPS liner will break, distributing the force from the impact throughout the helmet. The EPP and SEPP are similar in that they will also break when the maximum force of impact occurs, but SEPP and EPP have higher stress limits when it comes to breakage and flex.
