Review top rated, 187 Elbow Pads. The 187 elbow pads are built with every skater in mind. They are budget friendly but also offer excellent protection and are very comfortable to wear. The Elbows have a neoprene sleeve design that keeps the pads from shifting on your elbow. The Hard cap elbow is just big enough to protect but doesn't inhibit performance and comfort. They are a great option to pair with the 187 Knee of 187 Pro Knee Pads.

Let's first take a look at what 187 offers for Elbow and Knee Pad protection. 187 Killer Pads offers two different levels of Skate pads. They offer their entry level Skate and Roller Derby Pad series called the FLY series and then they also offer a Professional grade Skate Knee pad Series called the PRO.

The Fly Series was created to be a more economical elbow and knee pad but still keep the quality far above the low end cheap skate pads. These Skate pads are built with medium sized foam so they won't be real bulky like a Pro series. The Skate pads are quite flexible and light weight, which make them ideal for sports like Roller Derby or Street Skating. The 187 pads are also built in a tube design, meaning that they do not open from the back (butterfly closure) but must slide on and off like a tube. The caps on the Elbow and Knee pads and fixed to the pads and are not made to be removed. The elbow pads have two cinch straps to hold the pads in place. They have a top elastic/velcro strap and a bottom nylon cinch strap. The 187 Fly Skate Series is built with a neoprene back and a canvas body. These pads are built to last and will really serve any level of skater very well.

187 created the Pro series skate pads to fill the Professional grade niche. The 187 Killer Pads Pro Skate knee pads are overbuilt. They use a hefty closed cell padding that covers the the knee and surrounding areas. The Pro Series uses a Two stage closure system that includes a Butterfly entry system that allows you to take these on and off without removing shoes or skates. This closure system is a huge benefit. The pads are also made from top of the line materials, and are built to stay cool on your knees. They have removable caps that can be replaced as they become used. One note with the 187 Pro series is that they do NOT create a Pro series elbow pad. 187 has found that the Fly Series is a great elbow pad for both professional and amateur alike.
