POC Cortex DH MIPS BMX, MTB Helmet

The POC Cortex DH BMX, MTB Helmet is a lightweight full face mountain bike and BMX helmet with an advanced carbon shell wrapped around POC's patent pending aramid reinforced in-mold liner. The liner in the POC Cortex DH BMX and mountain bike helmet has a thin shell of polycarbonate covering the multi-impact core made with Super EPP. The double overlapping shell design, POC's patented VDSAP, allows a fully ventilated construction for maximum comfort without sacrificing penetration resistance or impact energy management. This top-rated full face DH BMX and MTB helmet from POC is also equipped with the patented MIPS system to reduce the rotational forces on the brain in the case of an oblique impact. In the Cortex DH fullface BMX and mountain bike helmet, nothing has been neglected to attain the highest possible level of protection.

The difference between the materials is that SEPP and EPP, unlike EPS do not deform permanently on impact and is therefore suitable to absorb repetitive shocks. Meaning, essentially that an EPS liner will break, distributing the force from the impact throughout the helmet. The EPP and SEPP are similar in that they will also break when the maximum force of impact occurs, but SEPP and EPP have higher stress limits when it comes to breakage and flex.

Integrated Helmet Audio

This helmet is available with a built in helmet audio system from Brain Teaser. The system has speakers in both ears and is completely integrated. This system then can be plugged directly in to your audio device. (ipod, etc). The helmet can also be disconnected from the speakers and used without the audio.
