What is D3O and Why do I need it?

D3O is a protective material that is specially designed to be lightweight and withstand high impacts. The construction of the d3o material is flexible and pliable when left alone but at the point of force in the area of an impact the material stiffens to form a hard shell, thus distributing the force of the impact throughout the rest of the material. After the impact force reverberates through the d3o material it again returns to its original flexible form. Since the d3o material is so light and durable it is ideal for body armor and pads, forming to the movements you make when you ride or skate, d3o is an ideal material for any piece of protective gear.

I took a nasty spill a few weeks ago. I was speeding towards a terrain park to do some jumping. A couple of folks that looked like they were speeding ahead decided to stop at the last minute giving me nowhere to go. I took out the park sign and one of the boarders on my way through, then tumbled down the 10 foot hill that starts the park. It was the worst accident I've ever had. I've broken several ribs in previous falls that were nowhere near as traumatic. But on this day, I ended up with only bruised ribs. It still hurt pretty bad, but Iwas back on the slopes the next weekend, as opposed to the 1-2 months of recovery required with broken ribs. I won't slap on skis without first putting on my Demon vest!

Love the Design, D3O shoulders, very comfortable to wear biking. Doesn't ride up like other vests. Sold armor in from and back.
