The Burton Women's Total Impact Padded Shorts for ski & snowboard. The five d3o pads, located on the hips, thighs and tailbone. D3O is designed to have some flex, but upon impact it stiffens causing the force of pressure from the impact to lessen and be distributed throughout the d3o impact shield padded shorts. More impact being absorbed by the d3o means you'll be protected better. These padded shorts fit conveniently under any ski/snowboard pants, and are comfortable enough for you to not even realize they are there.

The Women's Total Impact padded shorts have significantly more padding than the Women's Base Layer padded shorts, specifically in the hips, thighs and tailbone.
